Philosophy of the College

The philosophy underlying the programmes of the College of Social and Management Sciences of Western Delta University, Oghara, is to produce graduates imbued with the ability to understand and make contributions to the development of Nigeria and the global community. The college aims to foster an understanding of the rapidly changing world, including issues of globalization and a ‘borderless world,’ as well as relationships between various ‘worlds.’ This broad objective is achieved by equipping students with a solid foundation and specialized knowledge in particular disciplines, preparing them to meet human resources needs, fostering entrepreneurial knowledge, and instilling in them a sense of public responsibility and self-reliance.

Subject Matter

The subject matter of Social and Management Sciences revolves around individual behavior and institutions in society. It involves the study of human behavior, the environment and its elements, and the interaction among these. The knowledge and approach of Social and Management Sciences are essential for improving the quality of human life.
