Biography

Prof Raphael M. Mordi hails from Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. He has his early education, primary and secondary in Ubuluku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. He had his tertiary education in Ypsilanti, Michigan, USA. He is a certified medical laboratory scientist and was registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria in 1983. Prof Mordi, obtained his MSc in parasitology, in 1990 and PhD in parasitology, in 1999.

Prof Mordi, had his early working career with the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) and rose through the ranks to deputy director of microbiology laboratory services. He retired from the services of UBTH in 2010. He joined the services of Benson Idahosa University from 2011 as senior lecturer and rose to the rank of Associate Professor in 2014.

Prof Mordi joined the services of Western Delta University in October 2016, as an Associate Professor, and is the pioneer Dean, of the College of Applied Health Sciences, Western Delta University, Oghara.

His area of teaching cuts across bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, immunology, physiology, epidemiology and public health. His publications which are over forty in number are spread across these disciplines. Prof Mordi is blessed with a wife and three beautiful children.
