Biography

Dr. Oladeinde Bankole Henry is a lecturer and the Ag. Head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, Western Delta University, Oghara, Nigeria. He joined the services of Western Delta University, in 2022. He is a trained and certified medical laboratory scientist whose teaching career spans over a decade and stretches across four different universities. He holds the Associate of Medical Laboratory Science (Medical Microbiology Option) awarded by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN). In addition to his earned masters’ degrees (MSc) in Medical Microbiology and Health Planning and Management (MHPM), he has bagged a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in Medical Microbiology, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. His research interests are in the areas of epidemiology, microbial pathology, maternal and child health, antimicrobial resistance, laboratory management, and medical education.  His research effort and collaborations have yielded over forty articles published in journals with a wide readership worldwide. Dr. Oladeinde is a member of several professional and research organizations, including the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), the American Society of Microbiologists (ASM), and the African Collaborative Hepatitis Research Network (HEPNET).

Dr. Oladeinde loves teaching and takes up every opportunity to learn new things. His educational philosophy is that “learning and teaching are combined processes." To this end, he endeavors to actively engage his students in the classroom by creating and sustaining a conducive atmosphere for effective interaction, knowing that each student is unique and capable of innovative and creative thinking.
