Dr. Jomata Lucky Igben is an Associate Professor and Acting Dean, College of Natural and Applied Sciences in Western Delta University, Oghara Nigeria. He obtained both B.Sc. and PhD degrees in Geography with specialisation in Population and Environmental Management from the University of Ibadan in 1986 and 2011 respectively, and an M.Sc. Population and Manpower Planning (Environmental Demography) from the University of Jos, Nigeria in 1992. He is a member of numerous academic and professional bodies including the Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG), Union for African Population Studies (UAPS), International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP), Population-Environment Research Network (PERN), Waste Management Association of Nigeria (WAMASON), Nigerian Environmental Society (NES) and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN). He has published over thirty articles in both national and international journals of repute in addition to chapters in books and a book. He has also attended many conferences and workshops and presented papers. He has served in numerous university committees and as Acting Director, General Studies and Entrepreneurial Studies Units between January 2018 to February, 2020 and Acting Head, Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology from January, 2020 to July, 2021. His research interests span Population Studies (Population and Environment Analysis), Environmental Management, Human Dimension of Global Environmental Dynamics, Spatial management of solid waste and Socio-economic Impact Assessment (SIA). He is married with children.
