Western Delta University holds Christmas Carol

Western Delta University recently held her Christmas carol. Staff and students of the institution converged at the main auditorium, venue of the event. There were songs, recitations and prayers.

Resident Doctors Organize Health programme

Recently, Resident Doctors in Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, Delta State visited Western Delta University for a medical outreach. The team highlighted the need for students to avoid drug abuse. Abusing drugs involve excessive taking of drugs for non-medical reasons. This situation can damage the health of the abuser. Students were also encouraged to engage in entrepreneurship. They have to come up with ideas that are capable of serving the needs of others, thus making money in return. Attendees were admonished to have mentors who will serve as their role models in life. That way, they can discern how to handle a situation that goes beyond their abilities, with the assistance of their mentors.

Western Delta University Gets National Universities Commission’s Approval For College of Computing

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of the College of Computing. The College has the following four programmes: Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Information and Communication Technology, and Computer Science. Thanks to the Vice Chancellor (Professor Augustine Ikelegbe), distinguished Professor Emmanuel Onibere, Dr. (Mrs) I.O. Ejinkonye and all staff of the college for their efforts.

National Universities Commission Verification Team Pays Visit To WDU

On Thursday 8th September, 2022, NUC Resource verification team visited Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State for an on the spot assessment of Manpower and facilities with regards to the proposed College of Computing. The College is expected to run Bachelor of Science degree programs in Cyber Security, Information Technology and Software Engineering if approval is subsequently given.

The College has a 100 sitter auditorium, 3 lecture halls, a library, several offices, software, cyber security and hardware laboratories. The laboratories are fitted with state of the art computers, software, projectors, air conditioners and internet connectivity.

Council on Legal Education visits Western Delta University

The Council on Legal Education in Nigeria visited Western Delta University on Thursday 8th September, 2022 for accreditation of programs offered in the College of Law.

Vice Chancellor, Dean College of Law and Some Members of Legal Council
