The Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry offers courses leading to the award of Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry. The programme is designed in each case to expose students to all the main branches of chemistry and to emphasize the relationship between the subject and other science and applied science disciplines.
The department aims at producing chemistry graduates that have acquired sufficient knowledge of the concepts and principles of chemistry, and who are adequately equipped with practical skills to meet modern scientific and technological challenges.
Aims And Objectives.
• To stimulate students interest in chemistry and chemical sciences and ensure that their career needs are met through the acquisition of appropriate knowledge and skills.
• To inculcate in students a culture of critical reasoning and self reliance, especially in investigative work in the chemical sciences.
• To produce qualified manpower with the right skills and competence to exploit and utilize available natural resources for manufacturing processes in chemical and allied industries.
